TV Programme: The Pacific
Okay, okay, so this was actually made in 2010 and isn't currently on the television but the other half and I have been watching the box set which we borrowed from my dad. I love anything to do with history and so it's hardly surprising that this is exactly the kind of thing that I love. made by the creators of Band of Brothers, this ten part mini series delves into the experiences of the Americans who were fighting the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.  To be honest, this part of the war isn't something that I know a huge amount about so it's been not only an entertaining programme to watch but an informative one too.

Favourite Sport: Roller Derby
When my other half suggested that we go see roller derby on Sunday afternoon, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but I'm always up for doing something new. My entire wealth of knowledge of the sport came from the film, Whip It, starring Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page so I still had a lot of learning to do in terms of rules and game play. Anyway we went along to the local university to watch Glasgow Irn Bruisers vs. Stockholm and, in all honesty, it was a bloody good sport to watch - once I understood what was going on! Face paced and full contact, it was a really close bout which saw Stockholm only winning by one point!  I truth be told, I'd love to play it but there's the small problem of the fact I don't skate and my pain threshold is pretty low. I'll definitely be going to another in the near future although I think I'll be bringing my little sisters too as I'm sure it's right up their street.

What I'm thankful for this week
Taking the opportunity to try something new and finding out that I actually quite enjoy watching roller derby.
Chinese baby vegetable stir fry that was made by both of us this week without an argument.
Slightly cooler nights for more cuddles.
The dog behaving (for the most part) at her trip to the vet.

Have you ever seen roller derby before? What are you thankful for this week?

Until next time!
